Waypoints
A waypoint is a position on a chart that you want to make note of. Besides for marking a position, waypoints can be used to navigate to their position. Select "New Waypoint" to create a waypoint or select an existing waypoint to view and/or edit. The default position (i.e. latitude and longitude) will be near your location. "Show" will determine if the waypoint is plotted on the chart. "Goto" can be selected to navigate to the waypoint. The "Position" button will update the latitude and longitude to the position. The "Scroll To" button can be selected to scroll the Chart view to the waypoint. The Camera button can be used to assign a picture to the waypoint.
The "Arrival" button will allow selection of the arrival distance which is used to auto-advance to the next waypoint of a route. "Lock" when enabled, will prevent a waypoint from being changed.

When a waypoint is being navigated to, it's bearing, distance, time to go, and cross track error will be displayed in the Instruments view and a blue line from the current position to the waypoint will be plotted on the chart. The "Cancel Goto" button on the Waypoints view can be selected to end navigation to a waypoint.

A waypoint can be moved on the chart by single tapping its name in the Chart view and then dragging its location. Tapping a waypoint name a second time will display a menu. Single tapping on the Chart view will end waypoint moving/editing. A new waypoint can be created by single tapping the chart at the desired position and selecting "Waypoint" or holding down on the chart for two seconds (if "Long Tap New Waypoint" is enabled in the Chart view Setup). If the position icon is tapped, the waypoint will be created at the device location.

The position format for latitude and longitude is set in the "Units" view:

Format Definition Example
DēM.M DegreesēMinutes 44ē02.45'N
DēM'S" DegreesēMinutes'Seconds" 44ē02'26.8"N
D.D Degrees 44.04066N
Note: All coordinates are in the WGS84 datum.

Select "Import/Export" to transfer waypoints or routes to/from iNavX. Before waypoints or routes can be imported or exported, an account at x-traverse must be created. Be sure to enter the x-traverse account (email and password) info in the "Account" view.
Note: Emailing or Opening waypoints or routes does not require an x-traverse account. Waypoints can also be imported by holding down a GPX, KML or KMZ file attachment in an email and selecting "Open In..." "iNavX".

Select the trash can button to delete an individual waypoint or "Remove All Waypoints" to delete ALL waypoints.

Select the "Open in Maps" button to display the waypoint in the Maps app.

Select "Port Search" to find a marina, navaid or other object. Select any item in the list, and the Chart view will scroll to its location. "Position" will list all locations within 50NM. Note: not all charts include the ability to search for a port.
